Question 1

What warehouse racking systems does GENEX supply in the UAE?

Accepted Answer

GENEX supplies selective pallet racking, heavy duty racking, double deep pallet racking, drive-in racking, gravity (pallet flow) racking, cantilever racking, mezzanine racking and retail display racking, together with layout design, installation, inspection and maintenance services.

Question 2

How do I choose between selective, double deep and drive-in racking?

Accepted Answer

Choose selective racking when you store many different SKUs and need direct access to every pallet. Double deep racking suits medium SKU counts with at least two pallets per SKU and requires double-deep reach trucks. Drive-in racking gives the highest static density for few SKUs held in large quantities, operating on a last-in, first-out basis.

Question 3

Does GENEX provide warehouse layout design and rack installation?

Accepted Answer

Yes. GENEX handles the full project cycle: site survey, load and aisle-width analysis, layout drawings, supply of load-rated components, installation by trained crews, load signage at handover, and ongoing inspection and maintenance.

Question 4

What information is needed to design a pallet racking layout?

Accepted Answer

Provide pallet dimensions and maximum loaded weight, clear building height below sprinklers and lights, floor slab details, forklift model with maximum lift height and required aisle width, the number of SKUs, expected throughput and a floor plan or CAD drawing of the building.

Question 5

How often should warehouse racking be inspected?

Accepted Answer

International guidance such as EN 15635 recommends a documented inspection by a technically competent person at least every 12 months, plus frequent in-house visual checks by trained staff. Damaged uprights or beams should be unloaded and repaired immediately.

Question 6

Can international companies work with GENEX on UAE warehouse projects?

Accepted Answer

Yes. GENEX supports local and international companies setting up or expanding warehouses, factories, logistics centers and retail facilities in the UAE, coordinating design, supply and installation in English with a single point of contact.
